This paper discusses the relationship between the disciplines of Enterprise Architecture and Programme Management. It uses published, standard, open, non-proprietary reference works for the definitions of the practise of the two disciplines. The nine governance themes of MSP are used as an analytical framework for exploring the relationship. It identifies and discusses and number of commonalities between the disciplines and areas of complementarity. It argues that together the two disciplines form an effective methodology of strategy execution for enterprises – and therefore concludes that the two disciplines should be used together to govern strategic change.
